PHHHOTOS - REVIVED is a free iPhone camera app for moving pictures: tap the shutter and it shoots five frames about a fifth of a second apart, then plays them forward and back as a seamless loop, like a GIF. It is a fan remake of PHHHOTO (2014–2017).

The camera

• One tap, one loop: 5 frames, 0.2 seconds apart by default, played back twice as fast as a ping-pong loop.
• FAST: double-tap the shutter for a quick burst for action shots.
• Speed: the secret bar slows the burst down for longer, dreamier loops.
• RAW: on the back camera, each frame is a Bayer RAW photo developed with no Apple processing: no Smart HDR, no noise reduction, no sharpening. The viewfinder drops Smart HDR, video HDR and low-light boost too.
• STROBE: with the flash on, it fires on every other frame so the loop flickers.
• Front and back cameras, tap to focus and drag to set exposure, a grid and a timer.

Filters

• DAZE and SOLO, the original PHHHOTO's built-in looks, matched to how they looked.
• Recreated PHHHOTO filters: SPRING, VERTIGO, HUE, SPECTRA, WARP, FADE, DARKROOM, SPLASH, SHADE, VISION, SMMR, BEAUTY, WILD, SWIRL, FRIENDS, WERK, REAL, FUTURE, DUSK, TOXIC, RAINBOW, MIRROR, GLITCH, SLICE and XRAY.
• New ones: AERO (Kodak Aerochrome color infrared: greenery goes crimson), CINE (CineStill 800T: cool tones and red halation around lights), SPIN and SHINE.
• Limited-time filters come and go: DSP (a Chromagraph-style film grade), HAUNT, GLOW and FOUND for Halloween, BLING, POP and DOTS, and CROWN, which puts a crown on faces.
• Swipe left or right on the viewfinder or after the shot to change filters.

After the shot

• TXT: type captions onto the loop. Each line can be its own caption, taking turns through the loop.
• STEADY: lines up the frames when the camera moved.
• GRAIN: fine film grain under any filter.
• Save to Photos as a GIF or an MP4, or share anywhere.

Secret tricks

• ZZZOOM: the shot pushes in across the burst.
• TRAILSSS: moving things leave trails.
• LIGHTPAINT: lights and sparklers draw streaks across the loop. Best in the dark.
• TIMESPLIT: red, green and blue come from different frames, so moving things get rainbow edges.

Sharing

• A feed of the people you follow, likes, comments, @mentions, notifications and direct messages.
• #WOW: the best loops, picked by the mods.
• Every public profile and post has its own page on phhhotos.com, so a link in a group chat shows the loop.
• Your gallery is backed up to your account.

Not yet. It is an iPhone app (iOS 17 or later). Anyone can watch loops on phhhotos.com.

No. It is invite only and installs with SideStore, a free tool that signs apps with your own Apple ID.
